Privacy policy

This is an English translation for your convenience. The German version (Datenschutzerklärung) is legally binding.

1. In short

This website sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, does not track you and loads no content from third-party servers. LinkedIn and other websites are only linked: a connection is only made when you click the link. There is no consent banner because nothing requires consent. I only receive data from you if you send me an email (section 4) or if I write a letter to your company (section 5).

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. Each time the site is accessed, the server automatically records technically necessary data: IP address, time, requested file, browser type and version, operating system and referrer. This data is used to deliver the site and for security, is not combined with other data and is deleted after a short time as specified by the host. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the host.

4. Contact by email

If you send me an email, I process your email address, your name and the content of your message. There is no contact form on this website.

The purpose is to answer your message, for example about an application, a project or a collaboration. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where a possible contract is concerned, otherwise my legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). I delete the message once it has been dealt with and there is no obligation to retain it.

5. Advertising by post

I occasionally write a letter to companies. I take the business address and, where applicable, the name of the contact person from the legal notice (Impressum) of the company's website, i.e. a publicly accessible source. I use it only for this letter (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in direct marketing) and store it until you object, at most two years after the last letter. You can object at any time (Art. 21(2) GDPR); an informal message is enough, and I will delete your data and not write to you again.

6. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability (Art. 15 to 20 GDPR) as well as the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). An informal message is enough. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Saxony-Anhalt (Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Sachsen-Anhalt), Otto-von-Guericke-Straße 34a, 39104 Magdeburg, Germany.

7. Security

The website is served over HTTPS only. A Content Security Policy only allows the browser to load content from my own server.
